  • “Easy to use, and it even recognizes illegible handwriting or crossed-out words on to-do lists. Automatic naming is very helpful, and images of your notes remain visible for reference.”

Stacked letters and the line on top, read together.

Bangla stacks letters on top of each other and hangs each line from a bar across the top. Inksight reads whole lines instead of single letters, which is the only way those stacks turn back into words.

Handwriting recognition across 50+ languages.

Scan Latin-script notes in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and more, as well as Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other supported scripts. Language is detected from the page—there is no selector to configure first.

Can OCR read handwritten Bengali?

It can, but Bangla is one of the harder scripts. Clear, well-lit writing comes out reasonably well. Tightly stacked letters, narrow rows in an account book and dark photos give clearly more errors than Latin script. Read the result against your page before you use it.

Do I have to choose Bengali first?

No. The script is picked up from the page, so a Bangla page and an English page can sit in the same document.

Is the text real Unicode Bangla?

Yes. It is Unicode text, so you can search it, edit it and paste it anywhere that supports Bengali.

Can I turn a Bangla account book into Excel?

Yes. Rows and columns come back as a table and can be saved as .xlsx. Check the numbers: a wrong digit looks exactly like a right one.

Which other Indian scripts work?

Hindi, Tamil and other supported Indian scripts are read the same way, as part of more than 50 languages in total.

Is it free?

Your first ten pages on the web are free, exports included. After that Inksight still reads the page and shows you a locked preview, so you can see the result before you pick a plan.

Other ways to use Inksight.

Every tool uses the same OCR and the same document library, so a page you scan here opens anywhere else you sign in.
